A few posts ago, I offered up a free copy of my coming ebook The Effortless Power Golf Swing. The question was, ‘how do you control distance in the short game’. Well, Joe answered correctly! It seems he has either meet my brother David and/or read his book! (Gravity Golf, by David Lee). The old post and Joe’s answer (as a comment) are here: Free Golf Lessons and eGuide.
Distance is determined by the “intensity” of the backswing. David uses the term “heave” for the initiation of this beginning movement of the golf swing. The amount of force you exert on the backswing determines the speed and length of the swing. A common mistake is to think about the length of your backswing and/or the follow through on shorter shots. What you need to learn is the speed of the backswing.
Once we get my current ebook finished, which will cover the fundamentals and principles needed…….a foundation if you will, I plan to write a short game guide with videos of drills. In my opinion a lot of people make this way more complicated then it has to be. You can learn proper technique and more importantly what to practice and HOW to practice.
I am in Palm Springs, CA now (actually LaQuinta) as a student wanted a weekend of golf and instruction before I start my new job in OK. I saw and meet Doug Sanders today in fact! Will relay that and any other stories from ‘the desert’ when I get back next week. We had some technical difficulties, in regards to finalizing the ebook that look like they are ironed out and will get that finished ASAP. Joe we will email your copy when completed. Thanks for visiting and commenting.
